We spent another Christmas morning at our house this year. It was nice to stay in our jammies with no plans at all! Jacob was just 5 weeks old so not really in the Christmas spirit, but we had him with us all the same. I guess it was nice for Ethan to have one more Christmas with all of the attention!
Ethan was very excited about Santa this year. On Christmas Eve, we sprinkled this magic reindeer food that he's made at school on the front steps to make sure they'd be able to refuel at our house. (it's quite simple: mix oatmeal and glitter).
And of course cookies and milk for Santa were left on the table. There were crumbs in the milk in the morning! Apparently Santa is a cookie dipper.
There were quite a few hours of present opening and playing...

I was very happy to get earrings to match the pendant that Steve picked out for my birthday!
Steve bought Ethan a set of miniature football helmets. One for each team in the NFL...all 32 of them. Ethan's getting pretty good at recognizing them all! There were a few he was already familiar with of course.

And then came the only gift he had asked Santa for this year...a Lightning McQueen racetrack! He tore this out of a catalogue last January or February and it's been all he's wanted ever since. It really is sweet how he fixates on one item every year. Of course he expected other gifts as well, but it's nice that's he's not too greedy.

We spent the day being lazy around the house and were supposed to head to the Cape on Sunday to see the family. However, the first in a string of nasty storms this winter hit and we had to post pone. That really bummed me out, but we've had a bunch of family time since then to make up for it!
