The Rest of November

We save a lot of Ethan's classwork but every once in a while there is a piece worth sharing. This one had us laughing so hard!   "Two eyebrows sitting on a guys head and he is winking at me."

I can't remember if this was his birthday crown or just a fun crown but I love that face.  It's the seriously mom stop bugging me face.

It was very, very exciting when the cement mixer (a-ment mixer) showed up to pour the foundation for the garage next door!  I don't think Steve wanted to leave for work.

It was so exciting that this was the only way I could get him to eat his breakfast.

Silly boys snacking together.  It's rare these days that they're both at "the little table".

On November 24th Jacob was moved into a big boy bed!  He was beyond excited about it and loves to have lots of buddies and blankets with him at all times.  We have quite an elaborate bedtime routine with reading, rocking, singing, dream light, sound machine, scout, laying with him...he's very high maintenance.

On November 30th, we were back at Grandma Jan's to decorate ginger bread houses!  It's an annual tradition that all of the kids enjoy.

My Thanksgivukkah Birthday

My birthday was a pretty big deal this year. It was Thanksgiving, the first day of Hanukkah and my birthday all in one! We had planned to go to Paul and Linda's as usual but as a special twist, my mom came with us too! We were missing Jamie, Matt and Emma, but we had the whole Tremblay-Beattie and Schuler families there so it was a pretty special day.

The morning started off with a pig pile of boys in the living room.  There is a whole lot of wrestling going on in our house these days.  Usually instigated by Jacob.

Both boys had made a Thanksgiving crown/headband thing at school and I was trying to get them to wear them for me.  That failed so I asked that they just let me take their picture together.  That almost worked, but I ended up frustrated and called them out for not cooperating with me on my birthday.

That got Jacob to cooperate.  :)  "Look mommy!  I'm cooperating!"

He fell asleep on the way to Linda and Paul's house.  I rarely see him sleeping anymore and it's just too cute!  Yeah, I know.  His car seat strap was twisted which is a big no-no.  I did eventually fix it.

Ethan was a big help setting the table for all of us.

I spent a lot of the morning making my first Challah bread!  It was a labor of love and it was amazing.  I love baking so much and I have always had great success with bread.

Jenny and Christopher!  It was great to see them both at the same time.

I somehow ended up on the complete opposite end of the table from my kids.  Strange?  Or Strategic?

All I wanted for dessert was my Aunt Barbie's pumpkin roll.

Happy birthday to me!

Jacob's 3rd Birthday

You have no idea the amount of effort I have put in to get the pictures from Jacob's birthday up on to the blog! I think I finally have them all where I need them to upload, but between a broken lap top and trying to use the iPad to now, it has taken more time than I care to spend. HOWEVER, This post is not about me, it's about JACOB! Our busy little man turned 3 3 months ago so I thought I might tell you a little bit about how that went.

His birthday was on a Saturday so we invited a few of his buddies from day care to join us.  He had been asking for a tow truck birthday for a while, but I convinced him to make it a little more generic and we went with truck/construction theme.

I got the idea for this cake on Pinterest and it was the easiest cake I've made for either of the kids parties!  Jacob loved it.

Saturday morning we celebrated amongst ourselves.

We were in luck on this day because the big digger was still over at Alice and Bob's so we brought the little guys over to check it out.  They all lined up very nicely with Jacob as the line leader.  He was followed by Tyler, Ryan, Bijon and Connor.

Jacob had a really great time with his friends and we have another set of great parents to get to know!

Later that day we had the Lewis's, Lovell's, Tremblay's and Schuler's over for party #2!  Of course Grandma Jan, Chris, Auntie Jamie, and Emma were all here.  We had quite a time.  It got pretty rowdy...kids and grown ups alike.  :)

Molly and Emma hit it off as we expected and they were very happy to help Jacob open his presents.

Jacob was happy to play with all of his new toys!

Happy, happy birthday to you Jacob!  We love you so much.
