Memorial Day 2012

Now that Labor Day is almost here, I thought I'd share a bit about our Memorial Day weekend!  To be honest, there's not much to share.  We had a perfectly lovely weekend at home which is a rare event in our world.  On Monday we decided to take the kids for ice cream and then over to Silver Lake for a swim.

Somebody was happy to be back in the water!

Jacob does this with his arms all the time.  We have no idea why.

Piggy Trot Weekend

May 19th, the boys and I headed to the Cape for the Annual Piggy Trot. It's a race in honor of Glenna Kohl who was a Barnstable life guard who lost her life to Melanoma at age 26. I've been trying to get more involved with Melanoma causes and this was a wonderful event in which to participate.
The night before the race, mom and I took the boys to Dowses for what I was sure was one of many nights spent there this summer but it was really only the first of 2!  It makes me sad, but this was one heck of a busy summer so I can't really complain.

One of Ethan's favorite things to do at Grandma Jan's is play sword fighting on the Wii.  Jacob likes to get in on the action by shaking a plastic whale at the tv.  He's totally playing you know.

Stacey (the friend that introduced me to the cause) and Jenn were also running.

Jamie was there too!

Grandma Jan came along to push Ethan along the course.  He was way, way too big for that stroller but I thought 3.7 miles would be a bit much for him!

However, he was so excited to be set free from the stroller and run the last part of the race!  If only I'd had him wear sneakers...

He was so excited.  He is pretty sure he finished third.

Me with my little guys at the end of the race.  I pushed Jacob the whole way which was huge!  I had been sick all week (stomach bug AND strep throat...it was awful) so I wasn't sure how I'd do.  It was a beautiful day and a beautiful course and I felt good, strong and healthy.  :)

WKPG FFN

That would be "Wonder Kids Parents Group" "Family Fun Night" and it was a big hit with the kiddo's again this year.
Connor, Ethan, Kyle and Cole with Miss Julie.  The guys are great friends and Miss Julie has been the most amazing teacher for them.  Her patients and skills with encouraging their emotional growth has been so inspiring.

Why wouldn't he be lying on the floor while everybody else is jumping around dancing!?

Jacob and Julia!  I love the way he says her name.  She moved up to Toddler 2 in June but Jacob is moving up next month and I'm sure we'll hear all about her again soon enough.  I work with her father which makes it even more fun that they are so cute together.

Logan, Brady, Kyle, Cole, Ethan and Madeline.

We went to Atlanta...

Over 3 months ago! We arrived on May 9th for a long weekend and we had such a great time hanging out with family. It is so great to see the kids play together and have so much fun together. Ethan is so sweet to the little ones and they think he's the coolest thing ever.
Olivia at 9 months!

Playing in the basement.

Pop-Pop set up a cool tent for the kids to play with, but our little adventurer could not stop climbing it so it didn't stay up for long.

Spaghetti and meatballs for dinner...Ethan's favorite!

Movie time on the iPad.

GS and PP have a very big tub and bathtime was oh so much fun.
On May 10th (Beth's birthday!), Beth and I went out for pedicures while Steve took Ethan to Legoland.  I'm not sure who was more excited.

May 11th, we went back to the Atlanta Aquarium.  It is so amazing there and I was so excited to go back!
