Christmas and a New Camera!

Well Hello!  You might say I've taken a bit of a break from the blogosphere.  Nothing tragic about it really, just feeling a bit busy and tired from the experience of living our life let alone documenting it.  We have had quite a year of fun!  I do intend to catch up, but with today being Christmas and all, I figured I'd share a bit about our day.

First though, let me take you back to my birthday because I was spoiled with not only a new phone, but a crazy new camera!  Between this bad boy and my iPhone 6, I am able to take and share better quality pictures, easier than ever.

Last night we donned our Christmas jammies.  Ethan couldn't wait and was thrilled that his from last year still fit.  Jacobs did not but we love these snowmen so it didn't turn into a thing.

This is pretty typical around here, although not usually so literal.  The little menace has quite a difficult time keeping his mouth shut.

Sprinkling the reindeer food before bed.

The lights on our tree shorted out for Christmas morning, but I don't think the kids even noticed.

Jacob's favorite present.  Ethan has its twin.

A few shots from present opening...

This was THE gift this year.  All Ethan wanted was Skylanders Trap Team.  Santa came through and we let him play far longer than necessary!

The usual mess and Steve in the middle of it all assembling Jacobs race track tower (5 cars can race from 5 different starting points).

Of course there were Lego's to build throughout the day. Jacob started with his train engine...

...continued with the motorcycle from his police chase set...

We took a break from Lego and Skylander action to play outside.  It was close to 60 but really windy.  Ethan got goalie gloves for Christmas and Jacob was happy to help him try them out.

After we played all kinds of ball/catch, Jacob said "Daddy, let's play bowling!  I'll be the pin."

Strike!

...and after outside time, finished his tow truck!  We were really amazed at how independently he built his sets.  He would occasionally ask for help or require re-direction, but he largely built these all on his own.

We enjoyed our laid back Christmas as we always do!  The house is trashed, but we enjoyed each other and our gifts all day.  Even with Steve not feeling well.

The rest of these pictures are from festive occasions during December.  I love this picture from our card photo session.

We had breakfast with Santa (and the Lovell's!).

I ran the Somerville Jingle Bell Run again with my running club!  This is Megan.  It was a beautiful, chilly day and we had a really great time.

Last weekend mom, Jamie and I went to see White Christmas at the Wang Theater!  I remember watching the movie growing up and how much my mom loved it.  Jamie and I have a long history with the song "Sisters" and I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate the season!  The singing and dancing were unlike any show I've seen.  We enjoyed every minute.

And now...to eat one more treat before bed.  Goodnight!
