This picture is from March 15 and it makes me laugh because it tells a story of just how crazy and unpredictable things can be around here. Clearly Ethan was actively playing right next to Steve and Jacob just moments before this shot. He does not like to be far from us, and especially daddy. At any given time we hear "Daddy/Mommy do you want to play with me?. I want you to play with me. You're not playing with me." Also note the 2 bottles on the table. We were still getting the hang of just how much Jacob wanted to eat and not knowing exactly when he needed to sleep. The first bottle he didn't finish but by the time he got fussy and seemed hungry, it was too late for him to finish it so we made another and then instead of eating that, he fell asleep.

A weekend without daddy
The weekend of March 19, Steve was in Vegas with his friends from high school and the boys and I were home with lots to do! Saturday's are busy anyway, but this one was jam packed. Ethan had basketball and swimming at the Y, a playdate at his buddy Kyle's house to wish his buddy Henry well as he prepared to move to Maine, and then we drove to the Cape for a little visit with Grandma Jan so that I could have some help with these 2 little monsters.
Linda met us at the Y because I take the swimming lessons with Ethan and somebody has to stay with the munchkin! They had so much fun that J fell asleep in her arms, and continued to stay asleep as I put him into his snowsuit, into the Bjorn for the walk to the car, into his carseat for the drive to Kyle's house and even after we got to the crazy playdate!
There was lots of food and craziness at The Tufts house with all these kids.
Cheryl got out one of Kyle's infant seats for Jacob to hang out in. He loved it so much that she let us borrow it and we use it every day.
Here we have all the kids: Hannah and Henry, Kyle, Brady, Ethan, Cole, and Logan.
On Sunday, Jamie and Emma came up and we took all the kids on a walk at Scorton Creek.
Unfortunately, Ethan fell sound asleep on the way there so GJ had to stay in the car with him while Jamie and I walked with the babies. Of course he woke up when we got back to the car, but we decided to go to a playground instead.
Emma fell asleep and her hat got all turned around in the process.
Emma was not at all impressed by her first time in a swing.
Jacob at 4 Months
Now that he's over 5 months, I figure it's time to go back and remember where he was at his 4 month appointment. He weighed in at 14 lbs 5 oz and measured 25 inches long both of which were around 40th percentile.
We get a kick out of how the highest concentration of hair on his head is right around the back.
These are the pictures from our 4 month photo shoot on 3/16.

Jacob's First Food
Tonight was a big night at our house...Jacob tried rice cereal! He's been ready for more than his daily formula allotment for a while but it's one of those things that we just kept putting off for "the right time". Since he was so ready and Steve is going to be away the rest of the week, we went for it tonight so that daddy could be here for the big event. He did exceptionally well with the spoon. He wasn't really opening for a full scoop, but he was eagerly sucking away at the spoon and protested when we paused to make sure he was OK with it all. Even Ethan got in on the action!

All About March
Here is a mega-post with lots of pictures from March. This was March 1st and Jacob and I were ready to go and meet both Owen Krangle and Levi Barnes! It's so exciting that 2 of Ethan's closest friends have baby brothers so close in age to his own.
Jacob was just starting to get the hang of grabbing toys and sometimes bringing them to his mouth.
I had to have a picture of him in this sweet outfit from Renee. I mean really...how could he not?
A brotherly photo shoot on the 4th.
Although we met Levi a week or so earlier, this is the first picture of the boys together. While he's just 3 months ahead...Jacob looks like a giant!
Jacob loves, loves, loves to stand so we decided it was time to bust out the exersaucer (3/12).

Happy, oh so happy, on the changing table. His favorite place in the house by far!
Our little Steelers fan.
Ethan refuses to nap on the weekends anymore but sometimes he just can't help himself.
This is one of my favorite of Jacob's outfits. It's so zen with the koi.
I tried to get a good picture of Ethan for his Star of the Week poster but this was a close as I got.
I was trying to capture just how adoringly these two look at each other but it's impossible to sneak up on them in the house.
Um, hey Ethan, I think you might be a bit too big for the Cozy Coupe.
This was the 27th and a beautiful day that we spent outside. Jacob and I went for a walk and this is a view of the pond behind our house.
When we got back, Ethan was on the front step playing with farm animals while Steve cleaned up the yard. It's funny how when toys are put away and subsequently discovered how they're new again.
Ethan barely cooperated in an attempt to get at least 1 picture of me and my boys!
Jacob was sort of a captive subject.
Ah the second child. We're getting ready to go outside...this tile floor is the perfect place to lay you down and get you dressed!
How much fun could this have been? One eyed baby.
Hey mom...I don't have enough neck for a sweatshirt and a bib!
Just a couple of brothers hanging out before bed at the end of a busy day.

The best sound ever
Big Brother Ethan is the best at getting Jacob to laugh. This was the biggest belly laugh yet!! These 2 are so in love with each other these days. It melts me.
