Taste of Cambridge

It's funny for Ethan to have some annual events. The Taste of Cambridge that Ethan and I went to last year was this past Thursday. This year, I had plans so Ethan went with Steve. Bridget, Mark and Katie were there too of course! Ethan was not quite himself that night. His second top tooth has finally broken through so we're blaming his serious mood on that. He did however love the music as you'll see. I don't have a great picture of the 2 of them from either year, but you get the idea...they're so grown up!

A weekend without Ethan

This weekend, Steve and I traveled to Easton, PA, Steve's hometown, to celebrate the wedding of Geoff and Trish. It was an Easton Area High School reunion of sorts and it was amazingly wonderful to see everybody. All of us married with children types were sans children and very excited about it.

The day was hot, hot, hot. We were all like vampires avoiding the sun because we just couldn't take it. Giant fans were our best friends and we casually jockeyed for position in front of them during the cocktail hour and reception. It was a beautiful setting. Both at Lafayette College and at Morgan Hill Country Club.

Here we are with Kimmie and Don. We can't wait for them to come and visit with Baby Giorgia next week! It will be so strange to hang out with each other and the munchkins.

We were all jealous of Baby Oliver who had it pretty good tucked in with his ice pack. He was quite a hit all night with the ladies as you can imagine.

Oliver and I made our way to the dance floor to watch the first dance. It's hard to remember what Ethan was like when he was just 3 months old! It felt really good to dance with Oliver.

I love this picture. You can tell Joe was being Joe and Stacey was properly reprimanding him for it! Neha must be used to it because it looks like she thought it was funny.

It looked liked Steve had on his Chandler Smile in all of the pictures we took together that night. This was his attempt to avoid it. It looks like I married a tough guy.

Geoff and Trish closed the dance floor with her nephew. Congratulations you guys! We all had a blast.

For you Easton boys out there...yes, there are a few obvious omissions from this photo series. You'll have to wait for an email from Steve with those. I'm trying to keep this page family friendly.

School This Week

It has been a very exciting week at school. The weather has been nice enough for them to start water play! One of the things they have is a water table. All the kids play together and Ethan loves to splash...on his own terms. Apparently he gets upset when one of the other kids splashes bigger than him and he gets wet. I have to say, this kid is a pretty darn good splasher so I'm not sure what these other kids are doing!

Ethan is trying so hard to say every word. He's gotten very good at names this week. Another exciting development is that he recognizes himself! He says "me" while pointing to himself and he will also point to a picture of himself and say "me". It's pretty cool. One more fun thing he's doing is saying "please" or "peas". He'll only say it on cue, but it's pretty cute.

Apparently Ethan is still a ladies man because here he is saying Ella and Allie. He does give a little Cole at the end, but he's not saying Cole as much anymore. He started saying Ryan yesterday but I haven't heard that one yet.

First Sunday of June

Our neighbors son graduated from high school this past weekend and they rented a bouncy house for the party! It was delivered on Friday and Ethan was in awe of the multi-colored turrets that showed up on the other side of the fence. It was not blown up the whole weekend but we were invited to go play on Sunday. I guess we should have inflated it before we brought him over because it totally freaked him out! It was a little scary watching a huge "house" pop up out of nowhere. Steve had never been in a bouncy house before (I know. I couldn't believe it either.) and he thoroughly enjoyed himself!

After bouncing, we went to the beach on Plum Island. The tide had just gone out and Ethan had a blast running all over the sandbar and splashing in the tidal pool! He thought he wanted to go in the ocean but quickly changed his mind when he found out how freezing the water was!

Of course, silly mommy that I am I thought we could have a nice picnic while we were there and as soon as I lay down the sheet I'd brought, Mr Man was all over it with the sand.
