First snow of winter

I do not know the exact date of these pictures, but they are from the first (of many!) snowstorms this winter.  The boys are always excited to get out there and we are too (at first).

Blogger is telling me these pictures are centered.  I disagree, but I'll go with it.

I'm not sure if we'll be able to pull these guys together next winter.  Mr Bethan is over 60 pounds now and Jacob is right around 40.  That's quite enough thank you very much!

I have yet to find a pair of gloves/mittens for boys that Ethan likes.  He prefers to wear mine.

Ah yes.  The first of my holiday baking.  This was not the last by a long shot!  We were quite well fed this holiday season.  These were pretty great cookies though.  Although both Steve and I decided that we would pick m&m's or chocolate chips next time.  They really took away from each other rather than compliment each other.  I mean, we still ate them all with no problem but lesson learned.

Christmas and New Years

We are just going to have to skip ahead to Christmas. The other December pics are on the iPad, the iPad is in Las Vegas with Steve and it's been a PITA to get them off of there anyway, so here we go. Merry Christmas! 

 I am in desperate need of a new camera as well. I am so unhappy with the quality of these pictures, BUT this is my beautiful family and I love every moment I've captured so you're going to have to bear with me.

 Jacob was so overly excited for Christmas this year! It has been very clear for a while that he has no concept of time whatsoever and the build up to the holiday just killed him. To him, if it happened in the past, it happened yesterday. If it is not happening today, it is happening tomorrow. There were many nights and nap times that we would be leaving his room and he would say "see you for Christmas!". By the time Christmas actually arrived, he was exhausted! We managed to keep Ethan  upstairs until 7:30 or so and then we woke up the little guy. He was so out of it for present opening that it was kind of a bummer.

I do not have any blog-worthy pictures from present opening, but this moment will warm my heart forever.  Ethan wanted to buy Jacob his own Lego set for Christmas.  Although Ethan received several sets of his own, the first thing he did on Christmas Day was help Jacob build the Lego set that he picked out for him.

Jacob was so excited to receive his own sleeping bag!  He insisted on napping on it on the floor (no, that was not a typo.  He did not like to be in it, but on it) and it was even in his bed for a while.  He would sleep on top of it under his blankets.

On the 27th, we headed down to the Cape and to Great Grandma Nancy's!  Sometimes to get the kids to look I say "where's the camera?" but then they end up pointing to it so it's not a great trick.

The next day we celebrated again at Grandma Jan's house!

Back at our house, it was time for Ethan to help Jacob build his camper Lego set.  This has remained a favorite toy in our house.

On the 30th, Ethan and I met his friend Nathan for some ice skating!  I had not been on skates in years (gasp...decades?) and this was Ethan's first time.  He was a trooper but not a huge fan. It is pretty tricky!  And the rental skates were more like ski boots and very uncomfortable.  I'm not sure how soon I'll get him back out there, but I'm glad we tried!

Later that night we went over to Linda and Paul's to check out her Lionel train set!  I remember it so clearly from my grandparents house and Linda has had it in her basement for years.  It was a little sad, but it still ran and I found it very exciting.

I'm pretty sure Ethan ended up having to read to Linda because she didn't have her glasses.

Last but not least for 2013, we celebrated the new year with a glow party.  I made up quick play list, we all donned glow bracelets and necklaces and let loose in the living room!  I'll be honest, I was probably the most excited about it, but we all had fun.

Ethan at Gunstock

This past weekend we went up to Gunstock for some skiing with us, the Lovell's and the Lewis's!  I will post pictures later (likely much later), but I wanted to share this video of Ethan on ski's!  He graduated from Magic Carpet to the lift and the feedback from his instructor was really positive!  We had the kids in their camp program so we didn't get to ski with them, but we did spy on Ethan.  We tried twice to spy on Jacob but we missed them taking out the 3 year olds.  BIG bummer.  To the point where I plan to take them again before the end of the season so that we can get pictures/video of 3 year old Jacob on ski's.  Next year he will be 4...that seems impossible.

 

It's hard to see him, but he's on the left of the instructor with his red coat and blue helmet.  If you watch closely, right before he sees me and I call out to him he gives himself a little victory pump.  He is a big fan of himself after all. 

Jacob in the Box

I know that I am way behind, but I could not wait to share this video.  Yesterday we received another installment of handmade décor for Jacob's room!  Grandma Suzanne and Pop Pop had already sent a quilt and pillow case and yesterday came roman shades and sheets!  I do not have pictures of any of those things at this time.  Sorry!  Jacob loved the box that everything came in and wanted to wear it around.  I could not stop laughing as he waddled around with almost his whole body in the box!  Warning:  this does not end well...
