Boston Tree Lighting

Last Thursday Ethan and I drove to Boston to meet Jamie for the lighting of the trees on the Common. We has no issues at all with traffic until we got downtown where we sat, and sat, and sat. It took as long to go .8 miles as it did to get from Wilmington to Boston. I knew where I wanted to park but I ended up parking in this random garage as soon as I could make the turn. We met Jamie at Cheers in Faneuil Hall where she had chicken fingers and fries waiting for us! Gotta love half price apps.

So here I am, not only with a baby at the bar, but at Cheers with a Steelers shirt on. I felt like such a traitor. Of course there was tons of Boston sports paraphernalia around so Ethan was in heaven pointing out his "C-Sox" logo and even Wally. He kept pointing to the Bruins stuff and saying "Steelers". Maybe he knows his colors better than we think!

There was a whole program going on before the tree lighting and Chronicle was broadcasting live. We were too far to see so E spent a lot of time on my shoulders. It was really packed with people so we didn't stay in front of the stage for long. We did run into our cousin Heather who's a Freshman at BU so that was cool!

They didn't light the tree until 8:00 and we were really ready to go by then. The set off fireworks too and Ethan loved that.

This kettle was the best part of his night. It actually steams and we had to drag him away on our way to and from the Common.

Faneuil Hall was gorgeous all lit up! We didn't even need to go all the way to the Common, but we're glad we did. Ethan slept well that night!
