There were several bands that played through the evening and we had a great spot for viewing them and the fireworks when it was time.
This is a picture from my camera phone. Not bad for 2 megapixels.

There were free hot dogs and ice cream sandwiches and Katie made quite a mess with hers!
This picture pretty much sums up Mr B's attitude about the heat. He didn't nap so he fell asleep on our way and woke up cranky as he always does when that happens. He refuses to eat hot dogs in a bun and wasn't terribly interested in eating this one at all.
Luckily after the little he did eat kicked in he was in a much better mood. He and I went on a little train ride that they had going around the park, sampled coolatas at a Dunkin Donuts booth and then he and Katie were dancing fools!

The fireworks didn't start until almost 10 and the kids were growing impatient. It was a great show that lasted a really long time. Probably the longest fireworks display I've ever seen. Ethan was all set with it after the first 10 minutes but at least he wasn't complaining they were too loud the whole time. The walk back to the car was even more of an adventure than the way in because both kids were exhausted. Katie fell asleep so Mark was carrying her, and Ethan was awake but not interested in walking any more so Steve and I took turns carrying him and our gear. We were all so relieved to get back to the cars! It was a really fun night though and we'll probably be heading back as a family of 4 next year! Maybe just parked a little closer...
