Beth and Jared Get Married Part 1

I have a lot of wedding material to get through so I'm going to write this one part at a time. On November 4th, the 3 of us boarded a plan to Ft Whalton Beach, FL for a week of celebrating the marriage of Beth and Jared. I was over prepared for the little guy with snacks and activities. Having been a frequent flyer before Ethan, I was terrified of him disrupting the other passengers. We were lucky to have a whole row to ourselves (the guy sitting in our window seat almost didn't move when the flight attendant asked!), and Ethan spent most of the trip jumping back and forth between Steve and I. As soon as we landed, as we were taxiing to the gate, he fell sound asleep. The other passengers were laughing because he was snoring so loudly in my lap. He stayed asleep in the stroller all through the Atlanta airport and woke up in time for our next flight. Of course...

Overall he did really well and we were met at the airport by Pop-Pop and soon-to-be Uncle Jared. The wedding was at The Watercolor Inn and it is an amazing community of beautiful homes on the water. Our place was huge! And it needed to be as the 3 of us were staying with GS and Pop-Pop, Aunt Pat, Uncle Eddie, Cousin Matt, Aunt Ann and Uncle Walter. It had 4 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 3 decks, and a gourmet kitchen open to the living and dining areas. We were a 5 minute walk to the beach which was really great with a toddler and all of the things they require. Our first night there Beth and Jared gave Ethan a whole family of Mr Potato Head. This was a great distraction for him throughout our week and is still one of his favorite toys.

I never knew that the Florida pan handle was so beautiful! White sandy beaches, crystal blue water and we had it all to ourselves.

Ethan made it a point to play with every single sand toy that GS and PP brought for him.

Steve and Matt gone fishin'.

After we got back from the beach, it was time for ring bearer practice. We had Ethan bringing pillows back and forth between us. He proved to all of us that he was ready for the responsibility.

Tuesday night, Ann and Walter arrived and we were all present and accounted for. Here are the Schoenholtz siblings all together.

And here is Uncle Walter. He and Ethan hit it off really well. Thomas books are a great ice breaker.

Part 1 has only just begun to tell the tale of our week long family vacation. Stay tuned for parts 2-?...
