The Rest of August

Jacob definitely caught the puzzle bug this summer!

Since we were not able to sell or even give away our entertainment center, we moved it to the other side of the room where it is now housing our absurd number of toys/games/movies/etc.  Steve has since painted the trim around the slider and mounted the tv.  It looks really great in here even if we're still a work in progress.

On August 20th, the boys and I headed up to NH and met up with the Lewis's back on Lake Winnipesauke.  They had rented another house and we spent the night with them before driving on to Storyland.  We took full advantage for the 24 hours or so we were there!

This slide looked a lot cooler than it actually was.  This kids were having trouble staying on it so Matt just started throwing them off instead.

Matt tied up "the mattress" and the kids had a blast with it!

The big kids were climbing up on the rocks and jumping onto it again and again and again.

Jacob was cool hanging on the beach with me.

Sunset cruise!

Ethan was the first in the water!

There was also an amazing moon rise that night.

A little blurry, but a great action shot.

The next morning my boys were straight back out in the water...first thing.

Matt and Colleen let me take the kayak out by myself for a while which was really great.  It was a beautiful day and it was so peaceful to be on my own out on the water.

I'm going to skip over Storyland for now and jump to Ethan's first day of first grade!!!  August 27th was the first day of school and our boy was ready.

Originally, our bus stop was at a house down the street.  Ethan looked so small walking down the street next to Steve on that first morning.  The bus now stops at our driveway

I can't remember any more what the band aid was for, but I am sure it was critical.  And yes, my sweet little boy does like to punch.

On August 30th The Whorf's were back!  Jacob and I went up for dinner with the whole family.
